My mock trial experience at Furman has taught me more than anything else. The program is directed by a close mentor, Dr. Glen Halva-Neubauer, and I had the honor of being president my junior year. I joined this organization freshmen year, and I gave it my all every year. Furman Universtiy is very competitive in the world of mock trial. We field four teams every year, and I have been on the number one team since my freshmen year. The time commitment is extensive, and the workload is exhausting. I spend more time at mock trial practice than at my job or my classes, but it's been worth it. The Federal Rules of Evidence are ingrained in my memory, I know how to speak to jury, and I embrace the well of the courtroom. Mock trial is my passion. My coaches have spent countless hours teaching us the art of advocacy, and my teammates and I have loved, hated, and helped each other along the way. I've learned the benefits of teamwork and the camaraderie that comes with success. Most importantly, I've learned that I have the skill and confidence needed to be a successful attorney.

Political Science has taught me the intricacy of the law, the government, and the history our country has grown from.

This is my mock trial team (I'm on the very left) after we finished our last round at the National Championship.
